Saturday, Sept 8th 6 PM Bardstown’s Night Out Join Shop Local Bardstown for a pre Kentucky Bourbon Festival Bar Hop on Saturday, Sept 8th from 6 PM to 1 AM. Join us for a Locals night as we celebrate Bardstown’s Local businesses and residents before the influx of tourism during the 2018 KY Bourbon Festival. This is your night Bardstown! The participating bars and restaurants will include Cafe Primo, Xavier’s Pub, Mammy’s Kitchen, 3rd St Taphouse, Alexander Bullitt’s Brewery & BBQ, and The Talbott Tavern with no cover charge for Nelson County residents at any location! Come out for a night on the town with a Pub Crawl, great drink specials, live music, and swag provided by our local distilleries before the out of town crowd arrives! Must be 21! Monday, Sept 10th 5 PM An Evening With Guthrie McKay Join us for an evening with local celebrity and owner of the World Famous Toddy’s Liquors in Bardstown, KY during the 2018 Bourbon Festival presented by Shop Local Bardstown and The Talbott Tavern! Guthrie began his career in the bourbon industry when he purchased Toddy’s Liquors from Toddy Beam, served on the Board of Directors for the KY Bourbon Festival, and is renowned for his private barrel picks (featured on multiple podcasts and blogs) and palate. Join us for a night of stories spanning decades in the industry and the Bourbon Capitol of the World, Guthrie’s unique insight into bourbon tasting and criteria he looks for in selecting bourbon barrels, and signature cocktails provided by The Talbott Tavern. This event will take place on Monday, Sept 10th during the 2018 Bourbon Festival at the historic Talbott Tavern. Tuesday, Sept 11th An Evening with Donald Blincoe 4 PM Join Cafe Primo and Shop Local Bardstown as we present an Evening with Donald Blincoe, President of Buzick Construction. Donald’s family has spent generations building the Rick Houses where our famous Kentucky Bourbons are aged and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. Join us for an evening discussing his family’s history in the industry, the process of building a Rick House, sharing stories about his experiences in the process and as a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival Board in the newly renovated second floor loft at Cafe Primo in historical downtown Bardstown. Wednesday, Sept 12th The Bourbon Roadshow 2 PM Do you have unique bourbon memorabilia that you would like to have appraised? Do you have a dusty old bourbon bottle that you would like to show off? Would you just like to mingle or network with fellow bourbon enthusiasts and collectors? Are you into antiques? Then join Shop Local Bardstown and Mammy’s Kitchen as we present the Bourbon Roadshow during the 2018 Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, KY! Expert bourbon appraisers Jared Hyman and Bill Thomas from Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington D.C. and Mike Miller from Delilah’s in Chicago will be on hand to discuss the history and value of your items. This event is free and open to the public! Just bring your item with you. We would love to see your bourbon related items like Old and collector bottles, decanters, autographs, distillery tools, antique posters, advertisements, signs, bar ware, clothing, and publications! Cash bar and specialty drinks will be provided by Mammy’s Kitchen. This event will be held on Wednesday, Sept 12th during the 2018 Bourbon Festival from 2 PM to 5 PM! Wednesday, Sept 12th Bourbon Trivia at Mammy’s Kitchen 8 PM Mammy’s Kitchen and Shop Local Bardstown proudly present a night of bourbon trivia during the 2018 Bourbon Festival in historic Bardstown! Think you know more about bourbon than anyone else? Assemble a team of up to 6 and compete to win the crown of Bourbon Trivia Champion of The Bourbon Capitol of the World! Bourbon themed Prizes will be awarded for the winners! Cash bar, food, and specialty cocktails will be provided by Mammys Kitchen! This event will be held on Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8 PM! It is free to attend! Contact Mammys Kitchen to reserve a spot for your team! Thursday, Sept 13th Strained 6 PM Are you a fan of the TV show Chopped? Do you love mixology? Then Strained is the event for you! Shop Local Bardstown proudly presents Strained, a mixology competition where the contestants do not know what their ingredients will be. The contestants will include some of KY's premier bartenders and mixologists as they battle for the strained championship. Each contestant will receive a mystery basket on the stage at the historic Kreso's Ballroom and have 15 minutes to construct a cocktail for a panel of judges comprised of Industry Professionals and Dignitaries. The competition will be in the form of 3 rounds with a contestant being eliminated each round. The competition will be held on Thursday, Sept 13th at Kreso's Ballroom in downtown Bardstown during the 2018 Bourbon Festival and will be open to the public for viewing. Friday, Sept 14th The Bardstown Bourbon Blind Tasting Championship 2 PM Shop Local Bardstown and The Talbott Tavern proudly present the 2018 Bardstown Bourbon Blind Tasting Championship during the 2018 Bourbon Festival! Think you have what it takes to be named The Bourbon Capitol of the World’s tasting champion? Enter today! The Championship will consist of 3 rounds and points will be awarded for naming the distillery, proof, and brand of bourbon being sampled! Prizes such as distillery tours and memorabilia will be awarded! Earn bragging rights for the year as Bardstown’s Tasting Champion! For more information, contact the Talbott Tavern! Saturday, Sept 15th The Speakeasy 6 PM Join us for a night of Prohibition era fun at the historic Kresos Ballroom in beautiful downtown Bardstown, KY during the 2018 Bourbon Festival on Saturday, Sept 15th presented by Kresos Restaurant and Shop Local Bardstown! Dress to impress in your favorite Gatsby era outfit. Break out the feathers, suspenders, and pearls! Prizes will be awarded for best dressed! Enjoy gourmet food provided by Kresos restaurant and sip throwback craft cocktails and sample fine Kentucky bourbons provided by local distilleries. Mingle with Master Distillers and other Bourbon Dignitaries! And enjoy some old time swing music provided by Ray’s Music! Tickets are available by contacting Kresos.
