WEEKEND SHIFT - Friday - Sunday: 6:30am - 7:30pm
Position Purpose:
The Label Operator is responsible for operating in-line and rotary labelers. This person will have knowledge of labeling requirements and will adhere to those requirements. The Label Operator will perform periodic checks of the equipment and the finished product, make running adjustments to the equipment and will be responsible for equipment change-over.
Core Responsibilities
-
Responsible for the safe start-up and operation of labeling equipment for pressure sensitive labeling. This includes in-line and rotary labelers. This person may also perform, or assist with, hand-labeling.

Work with the Utility Technician, or alone, to perform periodic quality checks on finished products and record results on internal documentation.

Understand and follow the production schedule and the daily work order.

Maintain a clean work area. The Operator is responsible, with help as necessary, for keeping his / her machine clean and tidy.

Perform change-over on labeling and associated equipment. This could include bottle coders, case coders, conveyors and rails along with other equipment / processes.

Adhere to Think Packaging good manufacturing practices (GMP’s).

Provide clear communication to the Bottling Supervisor or other Management personnel regarding labeling issues.

Perform other duties (including General Operator tasks) as assigned by the Bottling Supervisor or other Management personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
-
High school degree or equivalent education and experience preferred.
-
Experience working in the distilled spirits industry is preferred.

Able to accurately record test data onto paper forms.
-
A strong mechanical aptitude is preferred. Must be able to read / use a tape measure or ruler.

Able to operate pallet jacks and / or forklifts.

Attention to detail.

Adaptable and able to deal with change quickly.

Maintain production records on labeling line.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
-
Fast paced, warehouse and industrial environment.
-
Exposure to hazardous materials such as alcohol and chemicals, loud noise, and moderate heat/cold.
-
Essential physical requirements, such as frequent climbing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching and lifting, occasionally above shoulders.
-
Physical effort/lifting to 60 pounds. Must be able to carry 50 – 60 pounds up and down a flight of stairs.
-
Some overtime required.

Able to stand and walk all day with minimal breaks.
-
Able to lift, carry and pull 50 pounds or less.
-
Able to kneel, squat, bend, and climb.
-
Able to work around alcohol and other flammable liquids.

Able to visually inspect products.
