We are seeking a friendly and organized individual to join our team as a Ticket Desk Clerk. As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all guests. The position begins as full-time interim with the possibility of full-time permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
  1. Greet visitors warmly and provide information about the historic house museum, its exhibits, and park amenities.
  2. Sell tickets for the historic house museum, collect admission fees, and accurately process payments.
  3. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding hours of operation, tour schedules, and special events.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the ticket desk area, including stocking brochures and promotional materials.
  5. Assist visitors with special needs or accommodations, such as providing wheelchair access information.
  6. Coordinate with other park staff to ensure smooth operations and address any visitor concerns or complaints.
  7. Keep accurate records of ticket sales and visitor statistics for reporting purposes.
  8. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about park policies, safety procedures, and historical information related to the museum.
 
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to react positively with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to handle ticket sales an maintain accurate records.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Proficiency in basic computer skills for processing transactions and using ticketing software.
  5. Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment preferred.
  6. Interest in history, cultural heritage, or museums is a plus!
This is a full-time, interim position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the parks’ operating schedule. This position could become a full-time, permanent position with state employee benefits for the right person.
