Shipping/Receiving Forklift Operator

Position Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Purpose:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for locating and transporting product, loading, and uploading barrels, totes, and tank product, and aiding in the daily shipping/receiving schedule. This person will pull orders for shipment, following shipping order instructions, and working with the shipping management software.

Core Responsibilities

• Unload and load product for shipment
• Adhere to Strong Spirits Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Follow all safety guidelines and forklift protocol
• Perform other duties as assigned by the processing and warehouse supervisor or other management personnel

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education required
• One-year previous forklift experience
• Able to operate forklifts, pumps, motors, hand tools, and other warehouse equipment
• Organized and attention to detail
• Self-motivated with strong initiative
• Strong organizational skills
• Adaptable and able to deal with change quickly

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Able to work Monday through Friday
• Fast paced office, warehouse and industrial environment.
• Exposure to hazardous materials such as alcohol and chemicals, loud noise, and moderate heat/cold.
• Essential physical requirements, such as frequent climbing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching and lifting, occasionally above shoulders.
• Physical effort/lifting to 50 pounds.
• Some overtime required.
• Able to stand and walk all day with minimal breaks.
• Able to lift, carry and pull 20 pounds or less.
• Able to kneel, squat, bend, and climb.
• Able to work around alcohol and other flammable liquids.
• Able to visually inspect products.
